Our opener, door, and associated mechanisms were original to the house and not counting occasional minor repairs, thirty years old or more. Things break down over that kind of time frame, especially with daily use. Initially when the door wouldn't open, I contacted a different company. The technician said the opener needed a new sprocket, a simple fix, except he didn't have one with him. We agreed on him returning two days later between 3 and 6 pm. He showed up hours early, when I wasn't home, then said I would have to reschedule for after the weekend. Sorry, no. I went online and made an appointment with Precision, who despite it being a Friday afternoon already, delivered on the promise of same day service. Are they pricey? Well, yes. Did the technician really call his boss to authorize a discount on the package of recommended service items? I have no way of knowing, and while I'm betting on it being a well-practiced move in any case, after the experience with the first company, I didn't really care. Look, not all of us are do-everything-yourself people, and I am certainly not an experienced garage door technician. Even if I knew how to do what needed to be done, it would have taken me a lot longer and the results would not be as professional as what Colton accomplished in a couple of hours, by which time a predicted heavy snow was falling. What is certain is that within a few hours of my contacting Precision Garage Door Service, instead of a thirty year old system comprising piecemeal parts and repairs, any of which could cease to function at any time, we had one with components that fit and work together perfectly, are warrantied for five years, and do not cause the entire house to vibrate every time the garage door opens and closes. Honestly, the difference is amazing, and I don't see how you could fake that. I suppose that if one has the time, one could and should shop around, but aside from possibly the cost, I can't imagine having a better experience with a company than Precision Garage Door Service.

We had William and Cody to resolve operation issues with our garage door opening this past fall. The solution was to replace the lift springs with a single torsion spring along with minor track and roller adjustments. All of the previous problems were resolved and the door function is much better than expected and so much quieter! During the incredibly cold weather on Jan 15, I opened my garage door to go out and get the newspaper. Got it and hit the button to close the door and it would not close. Wow. What an operation. Garage door broke late at night. Got a confirmation email and follow up call within hours. Got garage door fixed with in 24 hours is sub zero temp. Best part was technician called apon his arrival said he needed to get gas and was 10 minutes out and offered me a coffee from gas station. Are you kidding who does that?
