This was my first experience with Precision Garage Door and I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing garage door maintenance. Brendan was the technician who came out, and he was wonderful to work with. I was running a little late from work, and he was very flexible—graciously adjusting to meet me about 20 minutes later than originally scheduled. The springs and wires on my old garage door broke one afternoon and I called several places but Precision was the first to answer and they came over to my house within the next hour. Sadly, it was an expensive fix - my garage door was very, very old and it was recommended to replace the full door and system (my old door did not have the traditional spring above). I went ahead with this and they were able to get me in the next week. Thankfully, in the meantime they also helped me get my car out of the my garage since it was stuck in there after the door broke. When they came out the next week the installer was professional and even swept out my garage, leaving it cleaner than when he started. It works great and was well worth the money.

The Tech was proficient and did a good job. He reinforced issues that he felt were real safety issues. I did not like the company policy of taking all the door springs loose and removing all the cable drums and cables prior to presenting the sales pitch portion of the presentation, which created a half hour repair to well over one hour. I felt like I was being held hostage. I will be hunting for my former Overhead Garage Door vender that moved.

The parts you mentioned in your review, are the exact parts that Brendan fully failed in his inspection (meaning they were not safe or operating correctly.) Looking at your invoice, Brendan rewound the undersized springs as you requested, replaced the drums at your request, and strongly recommended replacing the cables before they break completely.
