I feel blindsided, I scheduled an appointment to have someone come out to give me a “free quote” on a garage door repair. The service man was very pleasant but quoted me about $300 more than other quotes I had gotten. He was only here for about 15 minutes and when I let him know I was not going to proceed with the service he charged me a $65 service fee just for coming to give me the quote. When I called customer service they claimed to have told me this before and proceeded to say they could not give me a refund. Every other garage door company that came out before Precision, did not charge me for a quote. I will not be ever be using precision nor recommending them to anyone in the future.

We listened to your phone call and it was communicated to you that our service fee would not be charged if repairs were made. The service fee you agreed to before booking secures your time on our schedule, and the technician's time to come out to you. We are sorry you feel that is unfair. We stand behind our policy and the agreement made when you booked with us.

I was totally displeased with cost and recommendations by the tech. first of all you charge $65 for the visit and recommended more things to be replaced then needed to be. You are no better than a bad auto mechanic. The $65 included a total assessment but I never received it in writing when the tech said he would. You tried to compensate for the high prices you were charging by offering a $300 discount off of $800. Well, guess what, I had another garage repair come today for the same work and he only charged me $375 total. I would not recommend your company to anyone.

George, We are so sorry for the misunderstanding. Looking at the 25 point safety inspection and photos of your door, you have many parts that are quite worn. While Noah quoted you for just the springs and bearings as you requested- he felt your door was in need of further repair to operate safely. The confusion on price may have come from the many options Noah gave you- from a temporary fix, to a full repair. We love our customers- but don't want them to have to see us monthly as we return to repair the other worn components. Our promise is to fix it the correct way, the first time. Anything less is a disservice to you.

All we requested was to connect two new additional garage door openers that were identical to the one we now use. Both the current remote and garage door opener worked well with no service issues. The service technician that arrived refused to connect the two new identical remotes. Instead he proposed replacing the garage door opener motor, springs, etc for $1000!!! When we complained that all we wanted was to have the new remotes connected, he said it was impossible and that he would have to do repairs that were wither $700, $900, or $1000. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY DUE TO THEIR UPSELLING BUSINESS PLAN AND ATTITUDE!!!!!

Very disappointing service call......requested one broken spring replaced and got 3 bids that involved more services that "were recommended/needed". What happened to performing requested service and leaving it at that?? Always there to add,add,add....Also told cost would be 125-189 and guess what - labor cost added (not told that was another add on) Will not be giving any recommendations -

Trish, We are so sorry for the miscommunication. While we are happy to replace a single spring- we strongly recommend against it. Springs work in pairs, and replacing both ensures that your door will run much longer, and smoother without need of future repair. As much as we love our customers, our goal is make sure we fix things correctly so you don't need to see us again for a very long time! Please reach out if you have any other questions about your door inspection or recommendations.

Tech here for hour and didn't fix or offer any help to get problem fixed, but sure wanted to get paid. Not sure what we paid for???

Hi David, We feel so badly that you are disappointed with our service and would love the chance to clarify any questions you have. I gave you a call last week to try and make things right and unfortunately have not heard back from you. When you book a call with our team, you are informed up front of our service fee. Because you have a commercial opener we were not able to satisfy all of your needs, but got your door and opener to a functioning point and only charged you the service fee for our time. I feel ripped off. I contacted Precision inquiring about service and rates. I told them I had a Guardian opener less than 6 years old. I had talked to Guardian about my problem and they told me it was the logic/circuit board and gave me an email address to order a new one. Precision told me their service person had everything necessary on his truck and I didn’t need to order it. The service person came, told me it was the circuit board, which I had told him when he arrived, told me he didn’t have one and that it would need to be ordered, it would be $65 for the call and he’d come back when it came. I told him that that wasn’t fair. I already knew it was the circuit board and they told me not to order it, that they had one. Now I’d have to double pay. The service person told me he wouldn’t charge me for the second service call. Six days later the circuit board came in and the service person came back. He did a great job installing it and it worked great. The charge was another $75! I asked about what he’d said about no service charge the second time and he said this was labor charge. I asked him if it would have been $65 plus $75 if he hadn’t given me “service” for free and he said yes. So BEWARE. That’s $140 for a trip out with no purchase of parts. I paid another $56 for the circuit board directly from the manufacturer. So that’s $196 to replace a $48 part that was easy to install.

Hi Dana, Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me today and explain the situation further. We do our best to carry every part needed for a basic repair on our trucks, such as springs, bearings, rollers, cables and openers. Circuit boards cover such a wide variety of opener brands and models that it would be impossible to carry them all on our vehicles at any given time. I am so sorry if you were told otherwise and will address that issue. The $65 service fee is our charge to drive out to the home, complete a 25 point safety inspection of the door and diagnose the issue. After our technician has completed a full inspection, they then discuss any concerns about your door with you before agreeing to the work you would like to have done. Because we had to wait for your circuit board to arrive and could not do the repair same day as you had anticipated, we waived the service fee for the return call to complete the work. When our technician came out the second time to install the circuit board for you, he charged a $75 labor fee for the work that he was doing on your garage. I apologize again for any miscommunications we may have had and my offer still stands to refund your $65 service fee as a sign of goodwill if you decide you would like to do that. It was a pleasure speaking with you, thank you again for taking the time to return my call today.

TERRIBLE! DO NOT USE! Tried to charge me $1000 I got the same thing done for $235 with another vendor. The Degree of attempted deception was astounding!!!

We train our technicians to do a thorough and honest safety inspection of every door they encounter. Because yours was significantly older, there were many parts that were in need of repair or replacement. The $700 quote included everything that technically needed done, but we would have been happy to simply repair your springs as the next company did. It is so important to us that our customers are aware of potential issues their door may have in the future so that they know what to expect.
