Listen, I had estimates taken for the new springs for my garage door. I had A1 Garage Door out to do the work, and over the phone they quoted me one price and when they came out for the work, they raised the price X3. I then contacted Precision Garage Door and was treated like valued customer. They also quoted me over the phone a range but were honest and did the job for the quoted price. Their technician [ Scott] was very personable and thorough. He looked over our door and let us know that we may need some more work but did not push. I bought a new side mount garage door opener to replace an existing screw drive unit. I was expecting an estimate with a promise to be back in a week or so for installation. I called for an appointment at 9:00 a.m. and the garage door was repaired by 2:00 p.m. the same day! Brenden was the tech and did a great job--he probably does this kind of repair (replace broken springs) 50 times a week! Bottom line, Precision was very professional. I felt comfortable the job would be done right, and it was. Their price was reasonable. Not cheap but certainly not exorbitant either--middle of the road providing what I believe is a good value.

I feel ripped off. I contacted Precision inquiring about service and rates. I told them I had a Guardian opener less than 6 years old. I had talked to Guardian about my problem and they told me it was the logic/circuit board and gave me an email address to order a new one. Precision told me their service person had everything necessary on his truck and I didn’t need to order it. The service person came, told me it was the circuit board, which I had told him when he arrived, told me he didn’t have one and that it would need to be ordered, it would be $65 for the call and he’d come back when it came. I told him that that wasn’t fair. I already knew it was the circuit board and they told me not to order it, that they had one. Now I’d have to double pay. The service person told me he wouldn’t charge me for the second service call. Six days later the circuit board came in and the service person came back. He did a great job installing it and it worked great. The charge was another $75! I asked about what he’d said about no service charge the second time and he said this was labor charge. I asked him if it would have been $65 plus $75 if he hadn’t given me “service” for free and he said yes. So BEWARE. That’s $140 for a trip out with no purchase of parts. I paid another $56 for the circuit board directly from the manufacturer. So that’s $196 to replace a $48 part that was easy to install.

We do our best to carry every part needed for a basic repair on our trucks, such as springs, bearings, rollers, cables and openers. Circuit boards cover such a wide variety of opener brands and models that it would be impossible to carry them all on our vehicles at any given time. I am so sorry if you were told otherwise and will address that issue. The $65 service fee is our charge to drive out to the home, complete a 25 point safety inspection of the door and diagnose the issue. After our technician has completed a full inspection, they then discuss any concerns about your door with you before agreeing to the work you would like to have done. Because we had to wait for your circuit board to arrive and could not do the repair same day as you had anticipated, we waived the service fee for the return call to complete the work. When our technician came out the second time to install the circuit board for you, he charged a $75 labor fee for the work that he was doing on your garage. I apologize again for any miscommunications we may have had and my offer still stands to refund your $65 service fee as a sign of goodwill if you decide you would like to do that. It was a pleasure speaking with you, thank you again for taking the time to return my call today.

The technician was prompt and very knowledgeable. He gave us a call to let us know he was on his way. He got our garage door working again for us and a lot quieter. We highly recommend Precision.

Cheerful and courteous service person. I have a garage double door which has one long enclosed main spring. That spring broke. I called them late on a Sunday night and they arrived the next day at noon. The price was higher than I expected. However, it works well and I now have have an easier system to service with a two spring system. It took about 2 hours to replace everything.

Wow, was I impressed with your service. I had been looking for a trustworthy company. I have friends who have had horror experiences with garage door repair people. The appointment was quick, not weeks out. The repairman was on time. He overlooked the junk in the garage as I was trying to move and could not get the garage door up. He showed us the little safety feature to get the door up without the lifter working. I was able to move my stuff out of the garage. The landlord can now deal with repairing or replacing the very old garage door lifter. Oh, the repairman(sorry, I think his name is Brandon) did a thorough inspection and writeup. Precision did an excellent job! The spring broke on my 10-yr-old garage door opener. I called and got estimates from 3 companies and Precision Overhead Garage Door Service responded the fastest, scheduled the fastest and was actually a few dollars cheaper than their competitors. Kim explained how the repair would be done and got it scheduled for the very next day. I purchased my opener at Home Depot and Brandon came and installed it, replaced the broken spring and loud metal rollers, and Voila! I have a new, quiet garage door opener.
